April 6 - May 11, 2008

"Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you trying to attain your goal by human effort?" - Galatians 3:3 We have plumbed the Book of Proverbs and learned how classical biblical wisdom can transform our lives. We then celebrated Easter: we experienced afresh the sorrow of the Passion of Christ and then the joy of the Resurrection. Now, as we turn to this next season, we hear the challenge from God to further cultivate wisdom by being in step with the Holy Spirit. "Foolish" Christians are those that claim the grace of God for salvation and then think that they can get the job done on their own. Jesus didn't leave his disciples alone then - He certainly has not left us alone now. Jesus gave the gift of the Holy Spirit. And what a gift this is! Do you know the Holy Spirit? Come, gather in the Word, and learn about the astonishingly powerful work of the third person of the Trinity. Come, learn about the way of wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit. Come, gather in expectant prayer for a fresh move of the Spirit in our midst and within our city.
